WEIMARANERS, are a picture of grace, speed
and stamina. They have a very distinct striking coat and light colored eyes. The Weimaraner is a very
versatile breed, they can be used for hunting, pointing, retrieving, agility and obedience competitions and competing in comfirmation
events.
THE Weimaraner is a very alert and friendly dog that
will bark to inform owners of an approaching stranger, yet welcome strangers once introduced. Weimaraners ussually get
along with other dogs and do learn to make friends with other animals as well. This breed makes a wonderful companion
for adults and children, taking great joy in pleasing their owners. Weimaraners love the outdoor activities, but require
human interaction. A Weimaraner will shadow it's owner from room to room, rest its head on your feet and will want
to share your bed. Weimaraners have been bred to be companions to their owner so consequently the best home for them
is where people plan on spending a lot of time with them and not expecting them to entertain themselves. These affectionate,
intelligent dogs may demand a lot, but reward every ounce of owner effort with unconditional love and devotion.
The Weimaraners head is noble with aristocratic features. Its expression should
reflect kindness and intelligence. The breed ears are long, slightly folded and high set. The eyes range in color
from light amber to gray, blue gray while the nose is always gray. You can easily groom the weimaraner at home with
a weekly polish from a hounds mitt. Bathing should be limited to monthly baths unless you do a lot of outdoor activities
and they get dirty. Nails need to be clipped monthly and ears cleaned weekly. The short coat is relatively free
of dander and is not highly allergic to humans.
